Army Sergeant Adam Joseph Thornton, born November of 1989, of Arabi, Louisiana.

SGT Adam Thornton was a member of B/1-141 FA, the Washington Artillery, from September 16, 2008 to 2012. He was a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn.

SGT Thornton was an honored recipient of the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal w/ Campaign Star, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal w/ M Device, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, Louisiana War Cross and the Louisiana General Excellence Ribbon.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a loving father, son, brother, grandson, soldier, and friend to many.

SGT Adam Joseph Thornton lost his battle with PTSD, August 23, 2012. He was 22 years old.

I miss my daddy I’m one of hes kids .g names madisom LeeAnn Longeuay in hes step daughter but he was the first boy I saw after I was out and my real dad left me befor I was born so he was my first dad when I fond out about hes suicid I was 10 so it,was just a few weeks ago I dropped I cried a little and my friend told me caus my mom td her mom and her mom told her kid who was my friend I’m lost without my daddy
